about
Palestrina wrote The Missa Papae Marcelli in 1562 as a mass for Pope Marcellus II. It's one of Palestrina's most famous works, and frequently taught as an example of late renaissance polyphony.
This is the Sanctus of the larger mass.
This track reinterprets the mass for sampled, heavily modified, atmospheric guitar, layering a fingerstyle acoustic with a bowed electric guitar.
